Pastor Seth’s Bio

Seth serves as the Youth Pastor and Church Plant Assistant at Frontline Church of the Nazarene. Seth was born in Ft Lauderdale, Florida and grew up in Miami. Seth’s story is a story of redemption and a testament to God’s power and faithfulness. He was saved when he was thirteen at a Christian Apostolic Pentecostal Church where he was given an understanding of biblical concepts and the character of Christ. Seth met the love of Christ and the Church surrounded him through different difficulties. Seth moved around with his family and ended up in the Midwest of all places, Blue Springs, Missouri, from Miami, Florida, which was quite a culture shock.

Thousands of miles away, God continued to seek after Seth, where he later joined different Fellowship of Christian Athlete (FCA) groups and a Discipleship group. God continued to bring mentors and pastors into Seth’s life, which helped shape who he is today. Seth continued to move around to different locations in Missouri due to life circumstances. However, at a new school, God led Seth to have a passion for ministry and seeing others know Christ. Through the leading of the Spirit of God, Seth started an FCA chapter at his High School (18-19) and, when he graduated, made sure another student leader took over.

Seth played football for two years in high school and, with the help of his coaches and determination, God provided many signs to pursue higher education at MidAmerica Nazarene University in (19). However, life took a turn and Seth ended up joining the Marine Corps Reserves as an Ammunition Technician Specialist. The Spirit of God continued with Seth during different training periods though he faced many trials and tribulations during this period but ultimately persevered. Seth kick-started a Bible study for Marines at their MOS school during Covid (20). What a crazy time. He often says it was productive until three were left: “A Pentecostal, Catholic, and then himself, they didn’t agree on much.”

After graduating all three periods of initial training to become a basically trained Marine, Seth returned home and soon his first year of college football began at MNU. Many more culture shocks. Seth started with computer science and calls this period of life “Deconstruction.” Seth received a concussion playing football, was injured for two months and walked away from God for about a year and didn’t think he was able to do ministry.

God spun it around calling him by name at a “random” Church service where a pastor confirmed his call to ministry, prophesied into his life with many words of knowledge given by the Spirit of God to change the trajectory of Seth’s life. Seth accepted the call of ministry in late (21) and his journey of sanctification continued. Seth Changed his major to Ministry and started seeking accountability, renewal, and healing through Christ, Deliverance Ministries, Therapy, and following James 5:16-17.

As a student, Seth served as a Student Chaplain of Hospitality with MNU’s Spiritual life team (22-24), A summer RA and student Ambassador (22), A traveling preacher for a PR/serve team (23), and as a Discipleship and Missions intern at College Church of the Nazarene (22-24). Seth enjoyed organizing outreach events, giving back to those in need, and making people feel seen and heard while sharing the love of God with them. Seth’s hobbies and other activities included, cooking Jamaican food, Improv, buying and selling furniture (he has many crazy stories), making music, and dumpster diving. Seth loves good conversations, laughing, playing board games, swimming, talking theology, and praying for strangers.

Seth Graduated from MNU in (24) with a degree in General Ministry. He was hired by the University to serve as an Assistant Chaplain for hospitality, databases, small groups, and preaching every so often. He also had roles with Student Government/Campus Life and Residential Life as an assistant Resident Director. Seth also served in the United States Marine Corps Reserves from (19 to 24) where he also sustained injuries during his service; however, it helped shape his resilience, deepen his faith, and strengthen his heart for walking with others through hard seasons. You might see Seth Subbing at your school in Glenwood or Malvern as Mr. W.

Seth, his wife Tina, and their daughter on the way would love to meet you. When he is not serving students or helping build Frontline Church, Seth enjoys eating diverse foods, helping Tina with her social media and using creativity and outreach to point people toward Jesus.
